Back in 2007, General Wesley Clark, former Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO, in an interview with Amy Goodman on Democracy Now said that after the 9/11 attacks, he had received a memo from the then US Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld. This memo, according to him, described “how the US government was going to take down seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and finishing off Iran.” Since then, US President George W Bush’s claim that Iraq has “weapons of mass destruction” turned out to be an “absolute lie”. Nevertheless, Iraq has been decimated. What happened to Gaddafi can be best described in Hillary Clinton’s own words, “we came, we saw, he died.” Libya, once Africa’s most prosperous country, is now a failed state with terrorists running amuck. Lebanon and Somalia have been ravaged by war, terrorism and all sorts of crises. Sudan has had uprisings and war, leading to divides within the country. For almost four years, civil war has ravaged Syria and turned it into a breeding ground for ISIS, now running wild through Muslim countries in the Middle East and parts of Africa.

ISIS is supposedly an “Islamic extremist” organisation hell-bent on establishing an “Islamic caliphate” in the Middle East. However, the interesting question is why this Islamic extremist group only attacks Muslim countries but not the Jewish state of Israel. After all, given Israel’s history of conflicts with Muslim countries and their continuous oppression of Muslims in Palestine, wouldn’t Israel be the “obvious” target for “Muslim extremists”? Is it simply because attacking Muslim countries is the new “trendy” thing to do? Maybe ISIS thinks going against that trend will make even Islamic extremists look “un-cool”? Or is it because ISIS was created for some other purpose that is not being discussed in the mainstream Western media?
Origins of ISIS
Zbigniew Brzezinski who served as a counsellor to US President Lyndon B Johnson and was the national security advisor to President Jimmy Carter, in 1979, came up with the idea that Islamic forces could be used against the then Soviet Union. “Operation Cyclone” was the code name for the CIA’s programme to arm, train and finance the “Mujahedeen” during the Soviet war in Afghanistan. Funding which began with $20-$30 million per year in 1980 eventually rose to $630 million per year by 1987. After the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan in 1989, members of the insurgency such as Osama Bin Laden became what we know today as “al-Qaeda” and “Taliban”. In a 1998 interview, Brzezinski admitted that it was the US policy to support “radical Islamists” to undermine Russia. Since then, Brzezinski has been the chairman of the Rand Corporation Centre for Middle Eastern Policy Advisory Board, as well as a top adviser to President Obama. Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on CNN said “people we are fighting today we funded 20 years ago.” What she does not mention is that during the course of the last 30 years the US never ceased to support and finance al-Qaeda as a means to destabilising sovereign countries. Support to al-Qaeda operatives in different countries by the US government is “known” and “documented”. It is a means to destabilising sovereign countries and imposing “regime change”. In 2013, members of the US armed forces even posted pictures of themselves on the internet, holding up placards that read, “I did not join the army to fight for al-Qaeda”, in a twitter movement #Ididntjoin. Hence, the name al-Qaeda was forgotten and the rise of ISIS began to dominate the mainstream media.
Destabilising Iraq and Syria
Former Republican Congressman and two-time Republican Presidential Candidate Dr Ron Paul on the US House floor said, “Unfortunately it appears the administration is already very much involved in supporting the overthrow of the Assad government… In dealing with Syria the administration pretends to pursue diplomacy and provide humanitarian assistance to the people, in reality the US government facilitates weapons transfers to the rebels who are demanding immediate regime change… Recent reports indicate that the US is providing logistics and communications assistance to the rebel forces. Assistance in getting arms to the rebels using surrogates is hardly a secret… Even the strongest supporters of our direct and immediate military involvement in Syria admit the rebel forces are made up of many groups including al-Qaeda.”

Four and a half years ago a programme was launched in Libya, Syria and other places, to “overthrow” the governments and put “radicals” in. The truth is that the US and its allies have been doing limited airstrikes on different rebel groups that are in there battling for control of Syria that the West opened the door for, to get them buggy whipped into line, so that they can be forged into an army that is used to take out Syria. And the excuse will be, “the Syrian civil war gave ISIS a home base and so the US and its allies ‘have’ to go in and clean up the country and that this is all Assad’s fault.”
Fars News Agency on February 23, 2015, reported, “Iraq’s army has shot down two British planes as they were carrying weapons for the ISIL terrorists in Al-Anbar province, a senior lawmaker disclosed… The Iraqi Parliament’s National Security and Defence Committee has access to the photos of both planes that are British and have crashed while they were carrying weapons for the ISIL… The senior Iraqi legislator further unveiled that the government in Baghdad is receiving daily reports from people and security forces in al-Anbar province on numerous flights by the US-led coalition planes that airdrop weapons and supplies for ISIL… The international coalition is not serious about air strikes on ISIL terrorists and is even seeking to take out the popular (voluntary) forces from the battlefield against the Takfiris so that the problem with ISIL remains unsolved in the near future.” It is admitted even in the Wall Street Journal, that the “good rebels” are being given vehicles and they are “allowed” to launch attacks. We will see these very vehicles in the future flying ISIS flags and no one will go, “wait a minute the US gave them those.” Or the Western propaganda machine will say ISIS “captured” them. Just like they captured Iraqi bases full of artillery and other weapons before. As if the US Army and the Marines just “left” those caches in bases and did not defend them, or have self destructive bombs and detonators in place to blow up ammo dumps, as is usually the case. Common sense dictates that they let them have it!
Is ISIS fake?
Does that mean there are no Islamic extremists? Of course not. There are all sorts of extremists out there, Islamic and non-Islamic. The threat of all forms of extremism is very real, Islamic extremism included. ISIS is very real. They are murdering people all over the Middle East and Africa. But the US is creating more and more Islamic extremists by droning, pepper bombing and committing all other types of war crimes in sovereign countries, which is then radicalising the people in those countries. And it is the US and its allies that are creating more and more extremists and directing them where to go. It is like if your neighbour came into your bedroom at night and dumped snakes into your bed. It is true it is the snake that bit you. But it was your neighbour that placed them there in the first place. The West covertly is doing the same with ISIS. Just like the general public, most of ISIS does not even know it is the West that is funding and arming them through other channels. They actually believe they are at war with the West. Little do they know that they are just pawns for something much bigger.
The Hegelian dialectic
The most effective and most powerful propaganda tool is the Hegelian dialectic. Throughout history, all centres of power have used this tool to further their agenda. It is presented in three folds — problem, reaction and solution. In 2003, 9/11 occurred. The public reacted with utter shock. And the solution “presented” was the invasion of Iraq, although, Iraq had nothing to do with al-Qaeda and the other justification of Iraq having WMDs turned out to be a complete “hoax”. However, these “facts” were quickly forgotten, never to be talked about again, except by only a few people.

Right now, we have ISIS that has taken over large chunks of Syria and is attacking the Assad regime — the enemy of America and Israel. Not only that, the constant media exposure being given to ISIS has made it the talk of the town. Everyone is asking “what is going on with this ISIS group”. Well the American government knows exactly what is going on with ISIS in Iraq and Syria because they are behind it. They are waiting because they do not want to deal with ISIS too early. They want ISIS control to expand and reach a point where a massive war would be the only “solution”.
“Ordo ab chao”, is Latin for “order out of chaos”. By destroying the status quo you create chaos — problem. The chaos creates fear and panic — reaction. And due to that reaction you now provide the new order — solution. Without the public ever knowing it was planned all along, so that they do not oppose the chaos being put in place to oppose the chaos that the people dealing with the chaos, have actually “created”. Former White House Chief of Staff for President Obama and current Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel described it best when he said, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”
Iran: The missing piece in the puzzle
Der spiegel’s report on Syria’s alleged nuclear weapons programme, titled “Assad’s Secret: Evidence Points to Syrian Push for Nuclear Weapons”, back in January 2015 is a testimony to what Rahm meant. The Tel-Aviv based ynetnews.com published an article which states, “The Free Syrian Army noted the presence of Iranian officers and ‘unprecedented’ Hezbollah security in the area. Al-Bitar said the Friday report on Der Spiegel has been discussed at length in command meetings of rebel factions in the Kalamoon area. He went on to say that ‘what can be confirmed is that what’s going on there is happening under direct Iranian supervision and the Syrian regime is only a cover-up for this’”. Both these articles expect the public to believe the Free Syrian Army, which according to many, including retired US Colonel Anthony Schaffer, “is” ISIS. The Israeli government wants hegemony in the Middle East. And the two obstacles in its way are Syria and Iran. And for the Israeli government, a US-NATO attack on Syria would give the Israel Defence Forces the “perfect opportunity” to pursue a war with Hezbollah and eventually Iran.
The real purpose of ISIS
The plan behind ISIS is to “create” and “exploit” the divide between Shia Muslims and Sunni Muslims. We have ISIS that represents the Sunni Muslims and the Syrian regime in effect representing the Shia Muslims with the centre of the Shia Muslim world, Iran, right across the border. Recently, there has been a surprising shift in US government’s approach to Iran. After years of providing back-up vocals to Israel, claiming Iran to be a threat to the world and imposing all these sanctions, the US is now saying a nuclear deal with Iran is possible. Not only that, they even seem to suggest dialogue with Iran over how to deal with ISIS is also a possibility. In reality, what they are doing is trying to draw Iran into this Sunni-Shia conflict. And once Iran gets drawn into this vortex, there is no way for them to get out.

Another aspect to this which is a real red flag is that this ISIS/ISIL organisation in its very name, when broken down, is describing its ambition (ISIL stands for Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant). That is to take over Iraq, Syria and what is called the Levant. And what does the Levant include? Israel! So here is an extremely brutal Muslim extremist group, saying in its own name that their intention is to take over the Levant region, which in turn indicates to Israel. At any other time, even with a lesser situation, Netanyahu would be surrounded by microphones, screaming his lungs out saying, “we must be protected from the barbaric Muslims”. Yet he is still having nightmares about the “Iran threat” alone and not losing any sleep over ISIS? What is that all about?
What is even more ludicrous is the US Secretary of State John Kerry’s reaction that the US is being careful with their bombing of ISIS because they might kill civilians. Well, that has never stopped him or his predecessors before! In reality, they are all taking a step back in order to “let” ISIS get a bigger foothold in the region, until it gets to the point where it starts to threaten Israel. Then the solution will be provided — then the US-NATO intervention will come. To “protect” Israel of course. And part of that solution will be regime change and the total destruction of both Syria and the bogeyman of Netanyahu’s nightmares —Iran. The question is if the world will buy their story once again.
